Dear Students and Families,
As you may have heard, Governor Reynolds announced that schools in Iowa will remain closed through April 30 in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The District will review options outlined by the Iowa Department of Education for continuing learning during the closure, and consider which is the most appropriate path forward for our students, families, and staff. We want to ensure that we have the ability to provide high-level teacher and learning experiences in a virtual environment, and that all students have equitable access to devices and the Internet. We will announce a specific plan by April 10.
We know that you have many questions. Rest assured that as soon as we have more specific information about how we will move forward with learning, we will share it with you. I’m committed to ensuring that every student in the Central City Community School District receives the education that s/he deserves.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Best,
Tim Cronin, Superintendent
Amy Smith, Elementary Principal
Jason McLaughlin, Secondary Principal
