A Message from Food Services:
Since the start of the pandemic Central City Community School District’s Food Services Department has been proud to serve ALL students breakfast and lunch at no cost regardless of family income.
On March 10, 2022 Congress passed a bill that does not include the pandemic nutritional waivers that we have relied on for the last two years. As a result, the Food Services Department will need to determine eligibility for student meals as free, reduced or full pay for the school year 2022-2023. Free or reduced-price meals are available to students based on household size and income. Some students are automatically eligible for free meals if the family receives assistance in other programs. Students that do not qualify for free or reduced priced meals will pay full price for their meals in SY 2022-23.
We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to submit a Meal Application. Completing an application takes less than 10 minutes, and parents only need to complete one application per school year. Families may apply or reapply anytime during the school year. Sometimes a family’s financial situation may change, if you have not been eligible in the past but have a decrease in household income, become unemployed or have an increase in household size you may qualify. Every eligible form counts! Every eligible form that is not submitted means lost resources for our schools.
Free or Reduced Applications for school year 2022-2023 will be available after July 1st on the school website, and we will share the link here when it is available as well.

We need as many volunteers as we can to run the concessions smoothly. We would like all parents of JH and HS athletes to work 2 shifts per child/sport in the concessions. We will have concessions at the 3 home track meets, and future events this summer and next fall sports seasons so please volunteer your time to help. If your child participated in Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball, or Wrestling this past fall and winter seasons, please sign up to help. If you work one of the track meets and your child is participating in track, you will be able to step out to watch your child’s events.

We are also looking for any other members in the community who are grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, and parents of elementary students who would like to volunteer in the concessions.

If you are unable to work the 2 shifts per sport, your HS child or other representatives can work for you. If your child is in High School, they will be able to get volunteer hours that go towards graduation if they work in the concession stand.

All profits from concessions goes back to the student athletes. As always, THANK YOU for your help and support!
