E-Registration is officially open for the 2019-2020 school year for Central City Schools. Just a reminder to Go to centralcity.powerschool.com and click on E-registration and complete for each student. If you have questions, contact the elementary or high school office. Office hours are 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

STOMP Out Bullying!

A National Campaign

Throughout the month of October, Central City Elementary, Middle, and High School will be learning about bullying and participating in bullying prevention activities.

It is our goal to encourage students to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying throughout our school.

Some of the activities will include:

• Signing a pledge to stand against bullying in Central City Schools
• Recognizing acts of kindness through clas discussions and social media
• Sending positive messages to students and adults in our bulding
• Learning the definition of bullying and how to stand up for others who are being bullied
• Wearing blue (the color of bullying prevention) on October 8 and orange (the color for Unity Day) on October 24 to promote awareness

What is Bullying?

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance.  The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time with the intention to hurt that person physically or emotionally.  Acts of bullying can be physical or verbal.

Talking to your Child About Bullying

What they can do about it:

• Report Bullying
  • Don’t be afraid to tell an adult.  Telling isn’t tattling!  You are helping someone. Who should you tell?  You could tell your parents, teacher, school, counselor, school nurse, coach or any adult you trust.
• Be A Friend To Someone Who is Being Bullied
  • When someone is down they need a friend.  Be there for the person who is being bullied.  Being an understanding and supportive friend means so much.
• Stand Up To The Bully
  • If you feel safe and comfortable, tell the bully that what they are doing is mean and wrong.  It’s not cool and they should stop.  Keep it simple.
